Réka Szabó

Réka Szabó graduated from Bartók Béla Secondary School of Music in 2000 in viola as the student of János Fejérvári. Following this, she continued her studies at Liszt Ferenc University of Music where, apart from László Bársony, her teachers were János Devich, Géza Hargitai, Béla Bánfalvi and Rita Wagner. She earned her degree in 2005.

In 2006 with the Nagyváry String Quartet she won the first prize at the National Weiner Leó Chamber Music Competition.

From 1998 to 2019 she was a member of the Óbuda Danubia Orchestra, and since 2003 she has been playing in the Orfeo Orchestra, led by György Vashegyi. From 2013 she was a permanent participant of the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra for two years, while also playing in several orchestras, such as the National Philharmonic Orchestra, Budapest Philharmonic Society Orchestra or Concerto Budapest. She has been a member of the Budapest Strings since 2020.
