Katalin Varró

Katalin Varró violin artist graduated with an artist degree in 2007 and obtained a doctoral degree at Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest in 2018. Since 2008 she has been a member of the Budafok Dohnányi Ernő Symphony Orchestra, later its principal.

She has taught in Bartók Béla Institute of Music at the University of Miskolc, at Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, at Kodály Institute of Kecskemét and at Qatar Music Academy in Doha. In 2005 she won the first prize at the Hungarian College Violin Competition; and at the National College Chamber Competition, organised in 2004 and 2005, she won an award of excellence with her quartet.

As a soloist, she performed with the Ventoscala Symphony Orchestra, the Eger and Dunaújváros Symphony Orchestras, the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Miskolc and the Orchestra of Liszt Academy of Music. She has been a member of the Budapest Strings Chamber Orchestra since 2019.
