Marcell Vámos

Marcell Vámos was born in 1976 in Budapest. He began his cello studies with music instructor Zsuzsa Pröhle at the age of 6. Ottó Kertész and György Déri were his teachers at the Béla Bartók High School of Music. He graduated from the Liszt Ferenc University of Music in 2001 as a student of Csaba Onczay.

Besides being the section leader at the Budapest String Chamber Orchestra since 2011, he is also the leader of the cello section of the MÁV Symphony Orchestra, and a musician of the Wespa String Quartet, founded in Sopron.
